Thomas, a founding partner at Catalpa Ventures, helms the firm's investment strategies and Limited Partner (LP) relations. His 25-year tenure as an executive across various fund companies in both Luxembourg and Germany includes the launch of the pioneering third-party alternative investment fund manager in Luxembourg (LIS), culminating in a noteworthy sale to a publicly traded company. Driven by his conviction in the transformative potential of digital innovations to improve health and well-being, Thomas has shifted his focus to fostering and investing in cutting-edge digital health-tech startups. He firmly believes that successful teams require a blend of entrepreneurship and the right company-culture. With a distinct business background, Thomas earned his PhD in finance at the University of Trier accompanied by a doctoral fellowship at the Wharton School.

Outside the confines of the boardroom, Thomas is a passionate outdoors enthusiast, frequently found cycling, engaging in various water sports, playing golf in the scenic Mosel Valley, or exploring the globe alongside his wife.
